A gathering for solopreneurs.

Pioneer Nation grew out of the World Domination Summit community in Portland, Oregon. While most business conferences chased startups and scale, Pioneer Nation focused on the people doing the quieter, harder work of going it alone — freelancers, makers, and small operators building one-person businesses on their own terms.

We produced the event twice, in 2014 and again in 2015. Two events, two Portland weekends, and a lot of friendships still going. Thanks to everyone who came.

What's next

WDS ended in 2022. The community-building work continues at NeuroDiversion, an annual gathering in Austin focused on the neurodivergent community.
